The creator of this page and Little Avalon as Barris Offee...

Ok... Well, the more you will learn about me, you will soon realize that any chance I get I love to dress up in costumes!!!  It is not an "escape from reality", but simply a journey to another one. =)
Star Wars is very near and dear to my heart.  I was raised on Star Wars and Star Trek: Next Generation.  Even though I love Star Trek, there was something spiritual about Star Wars for me.  And I have been a big fan of the story and the ideas in Star Wars.  I am in no way one of those fans who know everything and seek ultimate perfection in every Star Wars things they do.  I will say though, that when I made my Barris costume I wanted it to be pretty authentic, or at least have it look authentic.  That is the Renaissance Faire influence on me.  Enjoy!

Ok, so this is a picture of the hood of the cloak I made.  I lined the hood with the same material of the outside of the cloak...  I was extremely lucky to find such similar material to Barris' cloak... And it was over half off at Joann's!!! Oh yeah, the force was strong, baby.......

So, the "dynamics" of my Barris costume...  I got a long, flowy black skirt (graciously lent to me by Melissa, who also helped me sew my cloak), and a long-sleeved black turtlneck.  On the turtleneck I sewed on some of the cloak material.  For the hood, to get it stand up so nice and stiff, I took some sturdy wire (wire is your friend!) and sewed a small casing for it with some of the cloak material and stiched it about an inch from the front of the hood.  I made the cloak a little long, becuase Barris' trails a bit.
I found a brown and worn-looking belt at Salvation army.  Hmmm, what else?  I think that's it.  I had a lot of fun putting this costume together.

The following are some peliminary photos... Meaning, I have no make-up, I haven't made the black head covering yet, there is no wire in my hood, and I haven't punched extra holes in the belt, so it is too big and I have to stick out my stomach to keep it from falling off.  Really miserable pics, but I wanted to put some up before the movie came out.
